What is the OmniSled™ Table Saw Jig Platform?
The OmniSled™ is much like a traditional table saw sled, with an important difference -- the kerf (that's the part you cut through) is totally replaceable. Unlike a regular sled, we treat the kerf -- the thing that gets all chewed up and worn out -- as a sacrificial part.
On a traditional sled, when the kerf wears out, you're stuck building a whole new sled. With the OmniSled™, you just print or purchase another Zero-Clearance Insert, replace the old one, and off you go!
But the OmniSled™ is much more than that. Thanks to the standard hole pattern, lots of other jigs besides zero-clearance inserts are attachable. There are box joint jigs of various sizes, miter guides great for making 4, 6, and 8-sided frames, box corner jigs, spline jigs, v-blocks, and more... all designed to make your table saw easier, safer, and more enjoyable to use.
That's why we call it a Table Saw Jig Platform -- because that's exactly what it is!
Dado cuts will ruin a traditional table saw sled. How does the OmniSled™ handle this?
Easy! To make a dado cut, simply run the cut on the OmniSled™ as normal. This will cut a wide kerf into the wooden base, but that doesn't matter -- because you can always get it back, just by swapping in a new zero-clearance insert! Save the one you remove for the next time you need to make a dado cut of the same width.
Are there any videos that explain how to build the OmniSled™ and how it works?

Does the OmniSled™ come in different sizes?
Obviously you can build it any size you want, but we have build plans for Full-Sized (30" x 25½") and Mini (14" x 12¾") versions that are ideal for accommodating all the printed jigs we offer.
What skill level is required to build the OmniSled™?
The full-color, step-by-step build plans are written for woodworkers of any skill level -- weekend hobbyists and seasoned craftspersons alike. Each includes detailed diagrams and measurements for every component, plus a complete materials and hardware list so you can shop before you start.
I don't own a 3D printer. Do you sell pre-printed jigs?
Why, yes we do! For now, the pre-printed jigs are available only in the US and Canada, although we are working on opening up new markets soon.
Do the OmniSled™ Build Plans come with the 3D print files I need to build the sled?
The only 3D printed part that is required to build the OmniSled™ is the special Alignment Jig, and yes -- .3MF files for both standard and thin-kerf blades is included with the build plans, ready to print, at no extra cost.
Do the OmniSled™ Build Plans come with imperial or metric dimensions?
All the dimensions in both build plans are specified in both imperial and metric.

How do the jigs attach to the OmniSled™?
You have a choice of either ½" #8 wood screws or ¼"-20 cap screws. All of the 3D print file bundles contain both options.
The #8 wood screws are the easiest option if you don't intend to do a lot of swapping. The ¼"-20 cap screws are a more durable option, but take a little more build time up front. It's easy to convert from wood screws to cap screws after the fact if you change your mind.
I have a SawStop saw. Are there any considerations I should be aware of?
AVOID printing the jigs using carbon-fiber impregnated filaments, such as PETG-CF. Carbon fiber is electrically conductive and could trip the saw's safety mechanism unless you are in Bypass mode.
As far as the attachment hardware is concerned, even when used with a 3/4" dado blade, the screws clear the blade with plenty of room to spare.
What size printer do I need?
You need a printer with a bed capacity of at least 245mm x 245mm, such as the Bambu Lab A1/A1 Pro, P1P, P1S, P2S, X1 Carbon, or X1E, to print the Small Format files.
If you have a larger capacity printer such as the Bambu Lab H2D, H2S, H2C, or A2L, you can opt for the Large Format files as well.
Be sure to confirm your printer's capacity before ordering the 3D print files.
Do the Large Format jigs fit onto the OmniSled™ Mini?
Absolutely!
Will the files work with my 3D printer?
All the files come in .3MF format. The 3D Manufacturing Format (3MF) is an open-source, vendor-neutral file format developed and maintained by the 3MF Consortium. Furthermore, it is officially recognized as an ISO/IEC standard.
PrusaSlicer sometimes has issues parsing certain .3MF files. If you encounter this, convert the file(s) to .STL, then import the STL into PrusaSlicer.
What orientation, infill settings, supports, etc. should I use?
The ideal settings are already configured in the files, including plate orientation, supports (for the files that require them), modifiers, sparse infill density, etc. All you should need to do is to select your printer, choose your desired filament, slice, and print! Of course, you are free to change any of the settings you desire.
Which filament should I use to print the files?
That depends. For the jigs that don't ever get cut (Alignment Jig, Threaded Insert Drill Guides, etc.) obviously basic PLA is just fine.
For the jigs that do get cut, you have options. Keep in mind that the inserts have modifiers built into the print files that are set at 100% solid rectilinear infill. Because these modifiers are placed only in the path of the blade (and not through the entire part), you save printing time and cost, while still getting good performance, even with PLA.

In our own shop, and for the pre-printed jigs we sell, we use ABS-GF. We have found ABS-GF to have a good balance between heat resistance, dimensional stability, durability, cost, and overall performance.

How do I get the best results when preparing and using the jigs?
Preparing a new jig for use consists of attaching it to your sled, and running it through the blade for the first time.
- Use the proper filament (see previous question).
- Make sure your printer is properly calibrated according to the manufacturer's instructions. This will ensure strength and dimensional accuracy.
- For the first cut, make several shallow passes through the blade, rather than one deep pass.
- Do not expect 3D filament to behave like wood. First-time cutting will create debris than can be sharp and hot. Wear a long-sleeved shirt, gloves, and proper eye and face protection.
- Certain filaments can be messy, and some debris may stick to the jig. Use a putty knife or old chisel to scrape it away from any areas that may affect proper alignment or attachment, especially in areas that will come in contact with your workpieces.
- Hold the workpiece firmly when using the jigs. Always take the same precautions you would use with any table saw operation.
- Avoid storing the jigs in a very warm environment, especially when using PLA.
- Use simple common sense. 😉

Where is the 135° Spline Jig for Small Format printers?
Sorry folks, it doesn't exist. There simply isn't enough room with the small format configuration to safely fit a 135° spline jig that clears the rear fence. The small format configuration does have the 90° Spline Jig and the 120° Spline Jig, as well as all of the other jigs.
Is the OmniSled™ Table Saw Jig Platform patented?
The OmniSled™ Table Saw Jig Platform has a U.S. patent pending as of May 2026.
